All of the transport connections offered by the Linking Melbourne Authority’s Reference Design are offered in this Better Design. In addition a Flemington Road access point as newly required under the planning approval, can been cleverly integrated into this interchange. This will save further destruction of Royal Park and eliminate additional impacts to local residents in Parkville and North Melbourne.
A careful and considered design response has been developed that respects the iconic character of the Melbourne Gateway and ‘Cheese Stick’ that has become part of Melbourne’s identity.
